Child and Family Therapist

Juliet Small-Ernst, LPCC, AMFT (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works with young children, caregivers, and families. She is a second-generation Japanese American who is drawn to helping children and adults better understand their emotional worlds and the ways relationships shape how we grow, connect, and make meaning.

Juliet provides relationship-centered, trauma-informed care that emphasizes curiosity, patience, and a spirit of delight. She enjoys supporting families in noticing what children may be communicating through play, behavior, and feeling, and creating spaces where children can feel safe enough to explore and be known. Families often describe her as warm, thoughtful, and gently playful, bringing both steadiness and reflection into the therapy process.

Her clinical work is informed by advanced child and adolescent psychotherapy training through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis and postgraduate psychodynamic training through The Psychotherapy Institute. She also integrates play therapy and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) parent support, helping families deepen understanding and connection in everyday moments.

Juliet is supervised by Amanda Campbell, LMFT #50600.

Juliet accepts private-pay families and offers a generous sliding scale for those who need it. If you’re interested in learning more or would like to be added to the waitlist, we invite you to reach out—we’d love to connect.
